News Alert on digital resources for teachers

Here is some information received from one of our senior administrators on a digital topic. We received a News Alert from UNC -TV RTP about the 1500 free digital resources that supplements your teaching and support state and national standards. It seems like a bit of a coincidence I would receive such great information on teaching our students through technology and at the same time following the State and National Standards. Just last week I posted a message on blackboard about immigrant teachers feeling so confident with their method of teaching because they may have had a very high success rate with their test scores. Now I receive an article from my workplace about a news alert stating very similar scenarios about intergrating technology even in the classrooms of the immigrant teachers. It's a site I thought I would share with the graduate class because not only is it free, but it has excellent resources. Some of you may already be aware of this site. It is the Teachers Domain Update Site. It has teachers domain video and audio segments, discussion questions and lesson plans put together as a great way of integrating technology in the classroom and engaging students in learning. The expanded content as well as all three editions are now available at http://www.teachersdomain.org . It's FREE! Teachers Domain is a Pathways Project of the National Science Digital Library.

Folks, I explored this site. I could not believe the tremendous amount of material available to educators on this site. It even has a College Faculty and Students and Teachers' Domain College Edition. I explored the History and Impact of Technology portion. It has videos you can watch to receive knowledge on integrating technology in every subject area within the State and National Standards.

I'm sure you can tell how excited I was when visiting the domain. You will love it! Visit and enjoy!

The following quote at the end of the site is so true. It stated, "The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn -- ----Alvin Toffler
